Tuition and Fees

Tuition is set each school year in US Dollars, and the PNG Kina equivalent is determined using the rate of exchange on June 1.

Payment Procedures and Deadlines:

  • For missionaries seconded to SIL-PNG, school fees are prorated and deducted from your SIL-PNG account over five months per semester (August through December for Semester 1 and January through May for Semester 2).

  • For SIL Citizen Staff, school fees are prorated and deducted from your fortnightly pay (over 10 fortnights per semester).

  • For all other students, school fees may be paid by bank deposit or transfer, or by direct deposit at the SIL Finance Office. Evidence of payment in full must be submitted to the school office by 4:30pm on the last working day before the first day of each school term (quarter). Fees not paid by this time will incur a 5% late fee; if fees not paid by the 10th day of the school term, the student will be unenrolled and will be unable to continue as a student at UIS.

2026-2027 Full Year Commercial-Rate Tuition:

  • High School (Grades 9-12): US$11,364 or PGK49,648

  • Middle School (Grades 6-8): US$9,948 or PGK43,460

  • Primary School (Grades 1-5): US$8,532 or PGK37,272

  • Kindergarten: US$7,164 or PGK31,296
    (Kinder fees are based on half-day during Semester 1 and full-day during Semester 2)

  • Three-day Preschool: US$3,472 or PGK15,168

Incidental Fees:

Fees are charged for some activities and services such as band instrument rental and traveling-team sports participation, and there may be fees or required purchases associated with certain courses such as Woodworking or Cooking. SAT test fees are paid to the relevant testing agencies, and Advanced Placement (AP) testing fees, if applicable, are paid by the parents through UIS. MAP testing is included in the tuition. Available Discounts:

  • If the entire year’s school fees are paid before the school year begins, a 5% discount is applied.

  • If your family is in full-time Christian ministry, contact us about a possible ministry discount.

  • If your family is seconded to SIL-PNG, an automatic discount applies.
